Ms. Courtney Leigh Tomlinson, 29, of Onancock, passed away June 10, 2026, surrounded by her family at home after an aggressive battle with glioblastoma cancer, with which she was first diagnosed in August 2021.
Courtney is survived by her mother and father, Elizabeth and Walter Tomlinson; her sister and brother-in-law, Cassandra and Robert Monson; her brother, Walter “Toby” Tomlinson; her nieces, Annabelle and Robin Monson; her aunt and uncle Nelsa and Joseph Pryor, her uncle Gary Tomlinson; her grandmother Eval; and the love of her life, Andrew J. Smith; as well as numerous friends and family.
Courtney loved blues and purples. She loved lilies, sunflowers, mushrooms, and owls. She would get excited at any mention of good food and loved breakfast for dinner. She loved the singers Jewel and her “GF,” Clairo. She loved watching “Shrek” with her nieces and taking them on adventures. Courtney was a very passionate and empathetic person who loved the people around her immensely.
Her presence is going to be greatly missed every day.
