In Cape Charles, vehicles are not allowed on the beach.
A driver recently was ticketed for trying to drive a car out on the beach, reportedly to get a better view of the Cape Charles sunset over the Chesapeake Bay.
In this photo, a Cape Charles police officer looks in the open door of a Honda Accord marooned recently on the Cape Charles beachfront.
Police Chief Jim Pruitt said the driver received a traffic summons for trying to drive on the beach.
