Mrs. Florence Mae Linton, 83, of Mink Farm, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Shore Health & Rehab in Parksley.
Born June 22, 1942, in Keller, Florence was the daughter of the late Irvin Clifford Jones and the late Margie Christie Jones.
Florence was a woman who understood the value of hard work and devoted her life to caring for those she loved. For more than 20 years, she worked at the Onancock Laundromat, earning the respect of all who knew her through her dedication and strong work ethic.
Her faith in the Lord was a constant source of strength, and she found great comfort and joy worshiping at Hollies Baptist Church. Florence’s gentle heart extended to all of God’s creatures, though she held a special affection for cats.
She found beauty in the simple gifts of life, especially in nature, and roses were her favorite flower. Each year on her birthday, she celebrated with the addition of another rose bush to her garden.
Of all the seasons, Christmas held the most special place in her heart. She delighted in the spirit of giving, sharing, and kindness that filled the holiday season and took great joy in her beloved collection of Santa Clauses, which grew to include dozens upon dozens of treasured figures over the years.
Florence is survived by her daughter, Margie Grace Bradford Vazquez and her husband, Martin; her brother, Gene Paige “Dinky” Jones; her grandchildren, Ashley, Preston III, and Dyllon Bradford, Martin “MJ” Vazquez, and DeAnna Bradford; and her dear friend, Clarence E. “Goose” Baldwin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Preston MacArthur Bradford Sr.; her second husband, Rhomie Lyn Linton; her children, Preston MacArthur Bradford Jr. and Betsy Ann Bradford; and her siblings, Pauline Bennett, Clifford Jones, Shirley Hart, Judy Jones, Harland Jones, Henry Jones, and Carlisle Wesley Jones.
Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Friday, June 12, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Bobby Parks officiating. Interment will follow in the Wachapreague Cemetery. There will be a visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
