Mrs. Sally Ann Taylor Parks, 79, of Clam, passed away on May 13, 2026, in Newport News.
Born on Nov. 25, 1946, in Clam, she was the daughter of the late Orville Taylor and Frances Taylor.
Sally worked for the former Parksley Shirt Factory, Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital, and Eastern Shore Seafood.
She enjoyed her animals, chickens, gardening, and a good yard sale. Sally’s strong, outgoing personality meant she never met a stranger and was always ready for a good conversation.
Her love for her family was evident in everything she did. She treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, and she leaves behind countless memories they will forever hold close.
Sally is survived by her children, Joseph Zayas (Ella), of Clam, O.J. Zayas (Wanda), of Clam, Angie Ward (Tommy), of Exmore, Melissa Paschall (Bob), of Exmore, and Juanita Parks (Paul), of Williamsburg; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind several siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kelsey Zayas, and her longtime partner, Donald Phillips. As one of nine children, four siblings preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 23, at 3 p.m., from Thornton Funeral Home, with Pastor Bobby Parks officiating.
