Mrs. Leslie Parks Rew, 93, resident of Commonwealth Senior Living in Onancock, formerly of Onley, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
Her life was marked by deep love, enduring faith, and a joyful devotion to family, friends, and the Eastern Shore she called home.
Leslie was one of four children of the late Les and Beulah Parks. From an early age, she stood out for her bright mind, strong work ethic, and spirited nature. A graduate of Accomac High School, she was known not only for her academic achievements but also for her athletic talent.
She began her professional life working for local attorney George Walter Mapp and later built a long and respected career in banking with Shore Savings Bank, continuing through its transition to Shore Bank until her retirement. Through every chapter, she brought warmth, dedication, and a genuine love for people to her work.
Leslie’s life was deeply rooted in her community. She found joy in service and fellowship, sharing her time and talents through the Woman’s Club of Accomack County and other local organizations.
Yet of all the roles she cherished, none meant more to her than being Mrs. H.B. Rew — a loving and devoted partner for 65 years. Together, Leslie and H.B. built a life centered on mutual support, laughter, and unwavering commitment, creating a home filled with love that extended to all who knew them.
Her greatest happiness was found in her family. Leslie treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, delighting in their accomplishments and simply being together. In her retirement years, she embraced life with the same enthusiasm, traveling across the country and enjoying winters in Florida, always creating memories with those she loved.
A woman of strong and abiding faith, Leslie was a longtime member of Drummondtown Baptist Church, where she found both purpose and community. She shared her faith as a Sunday school teacher and lifted her voice in the choir, expressing her love of music — a passion that also led her to be a proud member of the Eastern Shore Madrigals.
Leslie’s life was one of grace, kindness, and strength. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her.
In addition to her parents, Leslie was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Herbert Benjamin “H.B.” Rew Jr. and her sisters, Madeline Parks Holland and Nora Lee Parks.
She is survived by her sons, Benjamin G. Rew and his wife, Elise, and David C. Rew and, his wife, Alice; her brother, Wayne Parks and his wife, Dale; her granddaughters, Paige McLean and her husband, Ian, and Claire Eder and her husband, Edward; her great-grandchildren, Bradleigh and Beckett McLean; and several nieces and nephews and their families.
A service in celebration of Leslie’s life was held at Drummondtown Baptist Church in Accomac on Monday, April 27, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Robert Coniglio officiating.
