Mrs. Delores J. Garrison, 84, wife of the late John Wayne Garrison and a resident of Hampton, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026, at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News.
She is survived by her most precious son, John Wayne Garrison II (Johnny), of Hampton; her brother, Ralph Jenkins; her sister, Mary Ellen Belote and her husband, Ted; two nephews; and two great-nephews, all of Harborton.
In addition to her loving husband of 59 years, she was predeceased by her parents, William T. Jenkins and Nettie P. Jenkins; her maternal grandparents, Henry L. Parks and Berlie Parks; and her paternal grandparents, Robert J. Jenkins and Florida E. Jenkins, all of Harborton.
Delores worked in the administrative medical field for 43 years and was an accredited record technician and certified medical staff coordinator and a member of Bethany Global Methodist Church in Hampton.
She would tell you that the greatest accomplishment of her life was the birth of her most precious son, Johnny.
A graveside service was held Thursday, Feb. 12, at 10 a.m. at Fairview Lawn Cemetery, with Pastor Barbara Parker and the Rev. Mary Sullivan-Trent officiating.
