Mr. Roy Walter Drummond Jr. passed away Aug. 8, 2025, in Groveland, Fla. Roy is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Jean Duer Drummond, of Groveland.
He was the eldest child of the late Roy Walter Drummond Sr. and the late Mary Frances Drummond. Roy was predeceased by his bother, F. Elliott Drummond; his uncle, Frank Drummond and his wife, Dorothy, of Pungoteague; and his aunts, Kate Drummond Wallace and Ann Drummond Whitfield.
Born in Nassawadox on May 14, 1943, Roy grew up in Pungoteague and graduated from Central High School in Painter. After wedding Jean and leaving the Eastern Shore, they took up residence in Ocean View, living on the beach for some time. After retiring, Roy and Jean traveled the nation for many years from Alaska to Mexico and numerous states in between. They loved their time together with their pets on the road and had many happy adventures.
Roy was the life of the party regardless of where he was — camping on Occohannock Creek, on the seaside at Virginia Landing or First Landing in Virginia Beach, and fishing with his dad on the boat at Occohannock Rock and attending his high school reunions.
