Mrs. Janet Louise Tull, 84, of Chincoteague Island, went into the arms of the Lord on Aug. 7, 2025, at her residence on Chincoteague Island, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on Chincoteague Island on Oct. 27, 1940, to the late Mordicai and Flossie (Williams) McGee. She lived a long and full life. 

For many years, she poured her heart into running Inlet View Campground, where she welcomed friends and treated them like family. She loved to cook and also ran Louise’s Kitchen at the campground, serving her legendary oyster fritters. Her cooking was never just about the food but about creating memories with family and friends. She had a deep faith in God and cherished her role as the anchor of her family, as she felt this was her greatest joy.

She was a member of Union Baptist Church on Chincoteague Island for many years.

Louise is survived by her loving daughter, Janet Mason (Matt Sr.); her stepdaughter, Vicky Tull; her daughter-in-law,  Nancy Adams; her sister, Ruth Budd; her brother, Carlton “Cork” McGee; her grandchildren, Terrie Lynn Rhodes (Chris Bunting), Sharon Rhodes Wood (Chris Wood), Roger Adams (Britney Adams), and Thomas Adams (Michelle Adams); her great-grandchildren, Christopher Fox, Brenna Arceneaux (Kyle), Savannah Adams, Austin Adams, Anthony Wood, Wilson Wood, Zachary Wood, Waylen  Adams, Emma Adams, Billy, Brandon, and Noah McGee, and Skyler and Trevor Bunting; and several great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Bob Tull, sister-in-law, Gloria Tull, and her beloved caregiver and friend, Mary Green.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Eddie Tull;  her daughter, Terrie Lynn Adams; her son, James “Jim” Adams; her parents, Mordicai and Flossie McGee; her siblings, Shirley Merritt, Eldon “Gumps” McGee, and Nelson McGee; and her sister-in-law, Sandra “Tuck” Tull.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10, at  Union Baptist Church on Chincoteague Island. Visitation was held one hour prior. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Union Baptist Church, 6365 Church St., Chincoteague Island, VA 23336.
