Mr. Elwood B. Mapp Jr., 63, of Scranton, Pa., formerly of the Shore, departed this life on Monday, May 23, 2022, at Nassawadox Rehabilitation and Nursing in Nassawadox.

Born in Hopeton, he was the beloved son of Juanita N. Mapp and the late Elwood B. Mapp Sr. He was affectionately known as “Butch,” “Lip,” “Head,” and “Boy George” by his family and friends.

Butch gained employment at Holly Farms and Perdue. In later years, he joined the trucking industry, traveling throughout the country delivering a variety of consumer goods. Later in life he moved to Scranton, and worked several odd jobs before going to work over 15 years for the Catholic Social Services of the Diocese of Scranton.

Graveside services were held Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Adams U.M. Church Cemetery, Parksley, with the Rev. Milton P. Bunting officiating.

Butch is survived by his loving mother, Juanita; son, Nicholas; one uncle, Thomas Finney; six sisters, Shirley Nedab, Connie Bradford, Valerie Vanlandingham, Keva Gunter, Justin Annis, and Denise Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Arrangements are by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
