Oct 2, 2026 | Obituaries

Mr. Albert Harry “Al” Warfield, 88, of Onancock, passed away peacefully Sept. 22, 2026, after a brief illness, surrounded by the love of his family.

Al was born in Baltimore to Donald Harding Warfield and Anne Marie Bricknell (Waskey). He leaves behind a life filled with love, accomplishment, adventure, music, and cherished memories.

Al was the beloved husband of Linda Easter Warfield, with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a family and a life filled with love, laughter, travel, and countless adventures.

Professionally, Al enjoyed a long and highly successful career as a Ph.D. research and development chemist. He was accomplished and respected in his field and took great pride in his work.

Outside of his career, Al had many passions. He was an accomplished photographer, an avid traveler and fisherman, and a gifted jazz guitarist who could play beautifully.

He especially loved being outdoors with his family. Camping trips, beach vacations, and time spent exploring together created memories his family will carry with them forever.

Al is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Debbie Small (Charlie), Michael Warfield (Margaret), and Dana Dillon (Jake); his sister, Betsy Warfield Callas; and his nieces, Maria Callas and Diana Callas Toronto (Patrick).

Additionally, he leaves behind his grandchildren, Amanda, Samantha, Nicholas, Noah, and Erin; and his great-grandsons, Coleson and Cohen. He treasured the years he spent with his grandchildren, attending their sporting events, school functions, and simply being present as they grew up.

His family will remember his love, his talents, his curiosity, and the time he so generously gave to those he loved.

Al was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, and he truly loved a good pun. He was very much loved and will be deeply missed.

A celebration of Al’s life will be held for close friends and family. Details will be announced at a later date.
