Mr. Lawrence Keith “Larry” Nock passed away peacefully on Sept. 16, 2026, at the age of 77.
Larry was born on Jan. 6, 1949, in Plainfield, N.J., to the late John and Evadna Nock.
On Sept. 2, 1971, he married Patricia Short, his high school sweetheart and the love of his life. Together, they built a life filled with love and family and recently celebrated 55 years of marriage.
Larry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; his daughter, Rebecca Lee Johnson and her husband, TJ, of Accomac; and his son, Andrew Keith Nock, of Lynchburg. He was especially proud of his two granddaughters, Madison Elizabeth Johnson, of Suffolk, and Morgan Rebecca Johnson, of Richmond, who were truly the apples of his eye.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Nock Sr., and his sister, Winifred Hatch.
Larry was a hardworking man who found great happiness outdoors. He loved gardening, caring for his yard, and cutting the grass. In his later years, when he was no longer able to do the yard work himself, he continued to take an active role by carefully observing and offering his expert critique of everyone else’s work.
Some of Larry’s greatest joy came from spending time with his dogs. He had a special love for his two English bulldogs, Muggs and Rocky, whose companionship brought him many happy moments.
Larry will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of the outdoors, and most of all, his deep devotion to his family. His memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
In accordance with Larry’s wishes, no formal service will be held. Family and close friends will gather privately at a later date to celebrate his life.
