Mr. Richard E. Conrad, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2026, at the Commonwealth Senior Living Community in Onancock. He was a retired aerospace engineer.
Born in Altoona, Pa., he was the son of the late Russell and Florence Conrad.
Richard and his late wife, Ann, moved to Eastville for their retirement years. Richard was a devoted member of St. Charles Catholic Church, where his faith remained an important part of his life.
Richard is survived by his sister, Claire Furber; his children, Matthew Conrad (Barbara), Mark Conrad (Samantha), Susan Garian (Geoff), Patricia Leheny (Terry), and Gary Conrad (Jane); his grandchildren, Zachary Conrad (Chen-Chen), Rachel Bracken (Conor), Kyle Conrad (Bianca), Andrea Bungard (Matt), Kristen Conrad, Christopher Garian, Kimberly Garian, Megan Conrad, Stephen Conrad, and Douglas Conrad; and his great-grandchildren, Everette and Wesley Bracken.
A memorial Mass with military honors will be celebrated Friday, July 31, at 11 a.m., at St. Charles Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow in St. Charles Borromeo Memorial Columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, Richard requested memorials be made to St. Charles Catholic Church, 545 Randolph Ave., Cape Charles, VA 23310.
