Mrs. Carolyn Priest Williams, 88, of Pamplin, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, July 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late Howard Thomas Williams Jr.
Born on May 17, 1938, in Springfield, Mass., Carolyn was the daughter of the late Dorothy Hevey and Edward Clinton Priest.
She graduated from Halifax County High School in 1956 and from the Virginia Baptist School of Nursing in 1959.
Carolyn dedicated more than 50 years of her life to serving others as a registered nurse. She also enjoyed working alongside her husband at Cherrystone Bait and Tackle. Her kindness, compassion, and caring nature earned her the affectionate title of “second mom” from many treasured family members and friends.
Carolyn was a faithful member of Elon Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Howard Thomas Williams III, of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; her daughter, Susan Winn Williams and husband, Jeff, of Charlotte Court House; two beloved grandchildren, Carolyn Faith and Teresa Hope; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to her husband and parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie Priest Ligon.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 24, at Robinson Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Dennis Smith and Pastor John Monteith.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
