Stacy Carpenter

Jul 17, 2026 | Obituaries

Ms. Stacy Lynn Carpenter, 45, of the Eastern Shore of Virginia, passed away at Riverside Regional Health Center in Newport News on Sunday, July 12, 2026.

Born Sept. 9, 1980, Stacy was the daughter of Dale R. Carpenter and Kathleen H. Hasty.

Growing up on the Eastern Shore, Stacy was a sassy little kid who made sure you heard every word she had to say. She loved playing softball and learning any subject that came to her mind. After she graduated from Nandua High School, she then earned her associate degree from Wor-Wic Community College, along with a long list of certifications in a myriad of subjects and disciplines. She traveled abroad to Europe — exploring Italy and Germany.

A beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Stacy always wore a mischievous smile and loved keeping the room lively. She loved her nieces and nephews and made sure to ask for kisses every 15 minutes from the “littles.” She enjoyed indulging in her brother-in-law’s homemade ice cream. Nanner Puddin’ was her favorite flavor, but like most things in her life, she never settled on one and would change from time to time to keep things fresh.

She found love in the wild side of life — she loved tattoos and loud music, especially Hinder, Shinedown, and Black Veil Brides. If there was a concert she really wanted to go to, well — the electric bill could be paid next week. She was spontaneous and fun and lived in the moment. But she also found peace in solitude at the beach or with her family. She loved animals, and when her mom passed away in 2024, she took her little doggy, Sophie, and raised her as her own.

Stacy is survived by her sister, April Hall and her husband, James; her nieces and nephews, Brianna Hall (Jeffrey), Courtney Hall (Jordan), and Caleb Hoilman; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Easton, Ryder, and Paislee; her lifetime BFF, Tanisha Cardenas; her furbabies, kitties, Jack Daniels and Mr. Wiggles, and doggy, Sophie; and many extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Stacy was preceded in death by her dear “MawMaw,” Effie Hickman.

Per her wishes, no public service will be held. The family will celebrate her life privately at a later date.
