Ms. Nancy Louise Bunce, 82, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at her residence in Nassawadox.
Her parents were the late Carl Clayton Adkins and the late Alma Frances Hatton Adkins.
She was born in Salisbury, Md., and graduated from Salisbury State University, Old Dominion University, and Duke University. She worked as a nurse practitioner until she retired.
Nancy is survived by four children, Stephen Bunce Jr. and Andrew Bunce, of Franktown, Jonathan Bunce, of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Susan Bunce, of Midlothian; one sister, Meriam Rippon, of Seaford, Del.; and her grandchildren, Chelsea Bunce, of Virginia Beach, Cortland Bunce, of Cape Charles, Greta Bunce, of Richmond, Devin Mercer, Riley, Eryn, and Darcy Hantin, of Chesterfield, and her granddaughter-in-law, Palmer Bunce, of Cape Charles.
She was predeceased by two brothers, William Adkins and Phillip Adkins, and one sister, Rachel Anne.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 11, at 11 a.m., from the Lower Northampton Baptist Church in Cape Charles, with Pastor Jeff Conrow officiating. A private burial was at Wicomico Memorial Park Cemetery in Salisbury, next to her parents.
