Mr. James Whitney Bowen, born June 23, 1980, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and those who knew him best.

James was the beloved son of Sandy and Aaron Bowen, of Melfa, and is also survived by his biological father, Teedy. He was a devoted brother to his twin brother, John Bowen, as well as Lori Bowen, Rebecca Bowen, and Annie Bowen. Family was the center of James’ life, and the bond he shared with them was filled with loyalty, laughter, and unconditional love.

He was a proud and dedicated welder who worked at Davico for more than 20 years, where he was respected for his hard work, dependability, and quiet strength.

Although James did not have children of his own, he devoted his life to being a loving and guiding presence to his nieces and nephews, helping raise them and loving them as his own. He leaves behind cherished memories with his nephews, John John, Cameron, Nathan, Brian, Kayden, and Jason, and his nieces, Chassidy, Amber, Aubrey, and Keirsten. Through his love, wisdom, humor, and unwavering support, James helped shape their lives in ways that will never be forgotten.

James also had a special love for his beloved pets, Raven and Cooper, who brought him comfort and companionship throughout the years.

He will be remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, deep love for family, and the countless ways he showed up for the people he cared about. Though he is gone too soon, the love and memories he leaves behind will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A graveside service was conducted Wednesday, May 27, at noon, at Fairview Lawn Cemetery, with Steve Lewis officiating. Family joined friends at Doughty Funeral Home the evening of Tuesday, May 26, from 5 until 7 p.m.
