Mrs. Rosalie Scott Lewis, 85, of Onley, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 7, 2026.

Born Oct. 8, 1940, in Cashville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Talmadge Scott and Blanche Harrison Scott.

Rosalie possessed a beautiful spirit and a heart that welcomed everyone she met. Kind, loving, and endlessly energetic, she was never one to sit still. For decades, she proudly operated Onancock’s beloved storefront, “The House of Deals,” where her warm smile and friendly nature made lasting impressions on all who walked through the door.

Rosalie was a longtime and devoted member of Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church, where she remained active throughout her life. She especially enjoyed helping prepare for the church’s annual bazaar, a tradition she looked forward to each year with joy and dedication. Rosalie truly was a friend to all and will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, Rosalie was predeceased by her husband, Robert Franklin Lewis Sr., and three sisters, Doris Whitley, Gloria Davis, and Norma Harris.

She is survived by her loving and devoted son, Robert F. “Frankie” Lewis Jr. of Onley; her sisters, Sylvia Griggs, of Windsor, and Mary Paul Harmon and her husband, Butch, of Melfa; her granddaughter, Chelsea Lewis; and several nieces and nephews and their families.

Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 12, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Roland Major officiating. Interment followed in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
