Mrs. Virginia Faye Fleagle was born on April 27, 1949, on the Eastern Shore and was the daughter of George Washington Cherrix and Virginia Frances Cherrix.

She was promoted to heaven on Dec. 17, 2025, at age 76. Faye graduated from Onancock High School in 1967. She played shortstop and third base for the school’s championship softball team.

On June 3, 1972, she married Arnold R. Fleagle, of Shippensburg, Pa. They served as pastor and wife for 50 years and led churches in Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. They also consulted with 74 churches in the Central District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Her church ministries included Sunday School teaching, women’s ministries, missions, and fellowship dinners. She was excellent at building relationships with congregational members and was an incalculable asset to her husband’s ministry.

Faye is survived by her husband, the Rev. Dr. Arnold R. Fleagle; two sons, Matthew (Elizabeth) and Marc (Kalila) Fleagle; and four grandchildren, Avalynne, Travis, Caedmon, and Genevieve.

Her family benefited from her Southern hospitality, Christian example, holiday celebrations, and her model of what it means to be an excellent Christian woman.

Services will take place in Stow, Ohio, with burial to take place in Chambersburg, Pa. A more detailed obituary may be seen at redmonfuneralhome.com
