Mr. Douglas Marshall passed away peacefully to his Lord and Savior in Heaven on Oct. 21, 2025.

Douglas was born in Utah on May 22, 1942, to his parents, William Marshall and Priscilla Johnson (Marshall-Bingham).

He served twice for the U.S. Navy with honorable discharge both times. He retired after 20 years of working security with NASA at Wallops Island.

He was a lifetime member of the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Department and loved volunteering. He cherished family and had a passion for working in his shop.

He is survived by his sisters, Bonnie Rye, of Oklahoma, and JoAn Parthesius, of New York; his brother, Lynn Jay Marshall, of Idaho; his daughters, Geneva Rathbone, of Delaware, Wendy Ainsworth, of Virginia,  and Donna Peterson, of Utah; his son, Jay Pronier, of Virginia; his grandsons, Mike Rathbone Jr., of Delaware,  Nate Rathbone, of Delaware,  John Michael Coyle,  of Florida, and Andrew Peterson, of Utah; his granddaughter, Nikki Conley, of Utah; six great-grand children, Barrett, Tyzek, Mikayla, Tim, Brooke, and Parker; and thirty-two nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Marshall and Priscilla Johnson (Marshall-Bingham); his wife, Alice Ilene Marshall; his sisters, Gladys Mae Felix, Beatrice Coulson, Carolyn Czech, and Emma Koziol; his brothers,  Larry Marshall,  Billy Marshall, and George Bingham; his son-in-law, Mike Rathbone Sr.; his grandson,  Ryan Coyle; and his fur baby, Ms. Sadie.

There will be a celebration of life/memorial service at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30, at the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Department, Chincoteague Island.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Department.
