Mrs. Barbara Jean Godwin, 77, of Sanford, wife of Raymond Earl (Bozo) Godwin Sr., passed away Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, at her home in Sanford.
Barbara was born Sept. 1, 1948, in Salisbury, Md., to the late Ira Taylor and the late Mary Jones Taylor.
She was a retired waitress at the former Pizza Hut in Oak Hall and was a member of the Sanford United Methodist Church.
She loved solving hundreds of crossword puzzles with her dog, “Baby,” by her side and spending time with her friend, Shirley Wessells.
Other than her husband, Barbara is survived by a daughter, Josie Williams, of Sanford; her grandchildren, Tyler and Brock Williams, Danielle, Dusty, Zack, and Gage Godwin; her great-grandchildren, Alexis, Octivia, Braylen and Braxton Williams; and several nieces and nephews.
Other than her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her sons, Nathan Godwin and Raymond Godwin Jr.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, Oct. 6, at 2 p.m. from the graveside of the Groton Cemetery in Hallwood, with Pastor Dan Tarr officiating.
