Mrs. Sue Stevenson Pruitt, 81, of Cape Charles, died Monday, July 14, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Clement Melvin Pruitt; her parents, Virgil Casey Stevenson and Katherine Stevenson Penney; her sister, Martha Parsley Rice, and her brother, Robert Dukes Stevenson.

She is survived by her daughters, Martha Pruitt Holdsworth (Walt) and Penney Pruitt Holland (Jeff); her sister, Esther Vaughan; her grandchildren, Hayes Holdsworth, Reid Holdsworth (Davianna), Payton Holdsworth (Madison), Logan Holland (Abby), and Ben Holland; one great-grandchild, Tucker Holland; many nieces and nephews; and her close friend, Kitty Hickman.

Sue was a graduate of Cape Charles High School. She retired from Eastville Bank. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and its choir. She served the church and its parishioners and loved her church and church family. Sue was a member of the Cape Charles Womens’ Club for many years. She was extremely dedicated to her faith, family, fellowship, and all things Cape Charles. The title that she loved best was that of Mimi! She will be missed deeply by her family, friends, and the Cape Charles community.

The family would like to especially thank her personal caregivers, as well as the staff from Commonwealth Senior Living for the three years of compassionate care that was provided to Sue. The family especially thanks the many friends that visited Sue while she lived at Commonwealth.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 19, at 11 a.m. at Cape Charles Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Conrow and the Rev. Dick Daily officiating. Immediately following the service, a reception will be held at 14 Water’s Edge Drive, Cape Charles.
