Mr. Roger Damian Weinheimer died on Friday, June 6, 2025, at his home in Onley, following a long illness.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Ann McMath Weinheimer, and other members of his dear family: his son and daughter from an earlier marriage, Billy Weinheimer (and wife, Eunice), and Amanda Weinheimer, and his granddaughters, Nora and Mia Weinheimer, all residing in northern Virginia; his sister, Alima Davis, of Manlius, N.Y., his brother- and sister-in-law, Greg and Patti Weinheimer, of Indianapolis, Ind., and their families in Florida, Indiana, and New York; as well as cherished friends.
Roger was born into a large family on April 13, 1950, in Syracuse, N.Y. He was graduated from the State University of New York (Oswego) in 1973. He subsequently served in the U.S. Air Force in the area of intelligence and continued as an intelligence research analyst for several government defense agencies, holding a top secret clearance. His life was changed dramatically when he met the Lord Jesus during a time of great need. His faith never wavered.
Roger retired in 2011, and he and Ann moved from northern Virginia to her native Eastern Shore of Virginia. After growing up in central New York state shoveling snow, he loved the warm air and sunny farmland. He also loved Washington Redskins ballcaps, Bigfoot, buying lawn mowers, colorful socks, and reading his Bible.
He is deeply, deeply missed.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, June 12, at 3 p.m. at Fairview Lawn Cemetery in Onancock.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Onley United Methodist Church “Freezer Fund,” P.O. Box 98, Onley, VA 23418; or Light House Ministries, P.O. Box 54, Keller, VA 23401.
