An Accomack County school bus driven by a 63-year-old Chincoteague woman rear-ended a truck at the corner of Mifflin Road and Chincoteague Road on Thursday, May 15.
There were 11 people on the bus, eight of whom were children. There were no reported injuries.
The driver of a 2008 Chevrolet truck was traveling east on Chincoteague road before stopping to turn into a local business. The school bus, which was also traveling east, failed to stop for the truck and rear-ended it. The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries and was transported to Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital.
The driver of the school bus was found to be at fault and issued a summons for following too closely.
