Ms. Gloria W. Isdell, 87, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Manokin Nursing and Rehab in Princess Anne, Md.
A native of the Eastern Shore of Virginia, she was born April 22, 1938, in Wachapreague, to the late Burley and Annie Isdell. She moved to Maryland in 1957, where she raised her children.
She is survived by her children, Judy Webster and Jeffrey, Bruce, and Brian Whitman; her brothers, James, Clifton, and Carrol Isdell; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Gilmer Whitman; six sisters, Catherine Hargis, Pansy Peters, Elizabeth Reed, Marie Thornton, Helen Stipa, and Patricia Isdell; and five brothers, Burleigh, Herbert, Robert, George, and Norris Isdell.
Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home on Monday, May 5, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Bill McClung officiating. Interment followed in the Wachapreague Cemetery.
