Mrs. Anne Bundick Bull, 100, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family and friends, her bridge clubs, her great-granddogs, and a good joke.
Anne was born two months premature in Modest Town on July 9, 1924, to Ryland and Gladys Bundick. Like many of the Shore’s farming families of the time, she spent her childhood between Modest Town and Hastings, Fla. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1942 and from Baptist Memorial School of Nursing in Memphis, Tenn., in 1946.
On June 9, 1946, Anne married William R. Bull Sr. Together, they raised their two children, Rick and Melanie, at Kegotank Farm. One of the best Eastern Shore cooks you could ever meet, Anne hosted countless holidays and family celebrations with meticulous attention to detail in her home.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, and her sister-in-law, Sandra Bundick.
She is survived by her much-loved brother, Thomas Bundick; her son, William Richard Bull Jr. and his wife, Ann; her daughter, Melanie Bundick and her husband, Jay; her grandchildren, Russell Bull (Kathy), Paige Bull Tatum (Brad), Kelley Lee (Ronnie), and Anne Kyle Doughty (Jesse); and her great-grandchildren, Bailey, Wyatt, Suri, Sawyer, and Ben; and nephews, Tom Bundick and Rob Bundick.
The family wishes to thank Mickey, Shelia, Barbara, Debbie, and Tabitha, who provided care for her at home, and Jeanette Troyer for the love and care she showed Anne in her final days.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 12, at 11 a.m. from the Modest Town Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Riverside Shore Hospice, 23379 Commerce Drive, Accomac, VA 23301.
Arrangements are being handled by Thornton Funeral Home of Parksley.
