Bobby, as she was known by her family and friends, was born to the late Dr. Christian V. and Anna Gertrude (Willis) Holland on June 17, 1928, in Arlington, Mass.

She passed away on Good Friday, April 18, 2025, at the age of 96, at Licking Memorial Hospital in the Selma Markowitz Hospice Care Center in Newark.

Bobby graduated from The Beard School in Morristown, N.J., in 1946, and from Randolph Macon Women’s College in Lynchburg with a bachelor’s degree in education in 1950.

She taught school after graduating from Randolph Macon and again years later.

She and her husband, Calloway M. “Robby” Robertson Jr., raised five sons and served as grandparents to 16 grandchildren.

She was a highly capable, talented, and organized person and a fierce supporter and advocate of people in whom and matters in which she believed.

Naturally athletic, she enjoyed participating in and watching others participate in sports immensely.

She was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Newark; Heath and Newark City Schools Parent Teacher Associations; multiple community organizations, including Monday Talks, TWIGS, Twentieth Century Club, Garden Club, Bridge Club, Gourmet Club, Alfretta Club and the Licking County Tour of Homes, and the Granville Tennis Club, where she played tennis until she was in her early 80s.

She loved her country, state, and community very deeply.

She especially loved (1) her family and friends, (2) the house and yard — and all the majestic trees, magnificent bushes, and beautiful flowers in it — where she and her husband, Robby, raised their five sons and welcomed family and friends, (3) the Episcopal Church, in which she was active for decades and (4) the Eastern Shore of Virginia, where her father grew up and she spent some of her childhood.

She is survived by her five sons, J. Martin Robertson, of San Francisco,  Dr. Gregory C. Robertson (Kelley), of Atlanta, Thomas Calloway Middleton Robertson III (Gail), of Columbus, Ohio, Christian H. Robertson (Michele), of Newark, Ohio, and Dr. John Y. Robertson (Amy), of Atlanta; her 16 grandchildren, Katie, Calloway IV (Lindsay), Ashtin, Abby (K.C.), Christian II (Aimee), Grant, Johnny (Jasmin), Nicholas, Elizabeth, Will, Caroline, Peyton, Storm, Drew, Alexis, and Cole; her 12 great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Barbara H. Holland.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband, Robby, and her brother, Christian V. Holland Jr.

Bobby’s children, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren love her with all their hearts and souls and miss her very much.

They ask God to bless her spirit with everlasting life.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 76 E. Main St., Newark, Ohio 43055.
