Mr. Paige DeCato “P.D.” Fisher Jr., 86, of Oak Hall, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 12, 1938, he was the son of the late Paige DeCato and Ellen (Coleburn) Fisher. He and his wife, the former Nancy Pusey, celebrated 58 years of marriage on Jan. 15, 2025.
P.D. worked as a mechanic for his father at the former Highway Service Station in Oak Hall, which later became Oak Hall Farm and Family Center. Later he worked at Stevenson Equipment. P.D. will be greatly missed by all the lives he touched. He served in the Maryland National Guard for six years.
After retirement, P.D. continued helping people and enjoyed working on their equipment and sharing his wealth of knowledge. He loved all of his cats. P.D. kept his 1982 El Camino in great condition. He enjoyed fast cars and fast boats.
P.D. was an active member and pillar of Atlantic Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon, trustee, and Sunday School superintendent. P.D. also served on the building and grounds committee for many years. He served on the Downings Cemetery committee as well.
In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by many nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law, Tony Rios.
He was predeceased by his three sisters, Virginia Trader (Billy), Anna Justice (Bobby), and Shirley Rios.
A funeral service was held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, in Atlantic Baptist Church, 10084 Atlantic Road, Atlantic, VA 23303 with a visitation one hour prior. Burial followed in Downings Cemetery, Oak Hall. An evening visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, in Holloway Funeral Home, Pocomoke City, Md.
Memorial gifts may be made to Atlantic Baptist Church and designated to the Window Fund.
