Mrs. Kelso Miller, age 95, of Joppa, Md., passed away peacefully on Dec. 25, 2024, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Md.

Born in Birdsnest, she was the daughter of the late William and Josie (Webb) Ward and the beloved wife of the late Richard M. Miller. Kelso was a devoted member of The Church of the Resurrection and embraced her community with warmth and kindness.

Kelso had a deep love for animals, a great sense of humor, and a zest for life that shone through her daily walks around the neighborhood and White Marsh Mall. She took immense pride in her family, cherishing their accomplishments and dedicating herself to their happiness and well-being.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Teresa (Jim) Kowalczyk and Phyllis (Jon) Mindurski; cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Parks Matthews, Jodi (Dan) Reinhardt, and Melanie Kowalczyk; and treasured great-grandchildren, Meredith DeMay, Aubrey DeMay, Ericka DeMay, and Simon Ihnat.

In addition to her parents and husband, Kelso was preceded in death by her sister, Emma Ward Abrams, and her brother, William Southey Ward Jr.

A graveside service will be held at Red Bank Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Dr. John Robertson officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Church of the Resurrection, 700 Anchor Drive, Joppatowne, MD 21085, in honor of Kelso’s memory and her dedication to her faith and community.
