Mrs. Elyce Elizabeth Koppenhofer, of Jamesville, went home to be with The Lord on Nov. 27, 2024, while surrounded by family.

She was a native of Roxana, Del. Elyce had an exciting career as a stewardess with American Airlines before becoming a Campbell Soup wife and devotee as she supported her husband in his career. She was a loving mother and grandmother and had a gift for entertaining and hospitality. 

You could always find her tending to her many plants, as her garden on the Eastern Shore of Virginia was her sanctuary. “Eyce” as she was referred to by her grandchildren, also was an excellent cook and was known amongst the family as “The Queen of Thanksgiving.”

Elyce was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Thelma Wilgus; brother, HF Wilgus; and husband, William Koppenhofer.

She is survived by her brother, Robert Wilgus (Elaine), two daughters, Sharlyce Peterson (Jamie) and Chantal Cross (Jeff); and six grandchildren, Chelsea, Lexi, Sarah, Mitch, Maddie, and Anna Mae; as well as 12 great-grandchildren.
