Mrs. Lesa Ann Green Smith, 58, of Sanford, beloved wife of James Edward “Jimmy” Smith, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024.

Born on Dec. 4, 1965, in Nassawadox, Lesa was the cherished daughter of Anne Caroline Godwin Pruitt, of Pocomoke City, and the late John Daniel Green. She was raised in Sanford and Parksley and was a graduate of Arcadia High School. Known for her radiant smile, kind spirit, and selfless heart, Lesa was a source of joy and comfort to all who knew her.

For many years, Lesa worked as a floral designer for Floral Express and Gifts, where her coworkers thought of her as family and customers knew she’d always go out of her way to brighten their day.

A faithful servant of the Lord, Lesa was a devoted member of Halls Chapel Church and proudly shared his word with others. Her enthusiasm for life extended to her roles as a coach and mentor. Over the years, she inspired many young athletes coaching volleyball at Holly Grove Christian School and both volleyball and softball at Arcadia High School.

Lesa was also a dedicated fan of her favorite sports teams, especially the Washington Redskins/Commanders. Above all, Lesa treasured her family and cherished every moment they spent together.

Lesa is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Jimmy; her mother and stepfather, Anne and Johnny Pruitt; children, Andrew J. Smith, of Fishersville, Kristen L. Smith, and Jacob M. Smith, both of Pocomoke City; brothers, Daniel Green and his  wife (Allison), of Tennessee, and Jamie Green (Samantha), of Texas; parents-in-law, Norman and Florence Smith, of Salisbury, Md.; sisters-in-law, Karen Smith, Patty Smith, Lori Smith, Peggy Hamlin (Phil), and Sherri Coates (Harold); and several nieces,  nephews, and cousins. Other than her father, she was predeceased by her brother, Sean Green.

A memorial service will be held at Halls Chapel Church on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m., with Mr. Scott Wade officiating.
