Mr. Larry Van Wynder, 67, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Edward P. and Corine A. Wynder and was born on Dec. 15, 1956, in Cape Charles.
Larry received his education in the Northampton County Public School System, graduating in the class of 1975.
Larry leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Deborah Wynder, of Durham, N.C.; four daughters, Samnetta Robinson, of Columbia, S.C., Decia Sanders, of South Hill, S.C., Shanta Beard (Anthony), and Janay Wynder, both of Durham; and seven grandchildren, Shaun Sanders, Ryan Sanders, Joshua Robinson, Aurey Beard, Anthony Beard Jr., Austin Beard, and Marli Johnson. He is also survived by four sisters, Joyce McDonald, Patricia Giddens, Cynthia (Sylvester) White, and Gloria (Morgan) Blake; and two brothers, Jerry Wynder and Freddie Brown; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Ann Brittingham; and two brothers, Thomas Wynder and James Wynder.
Services were entrusted to Holloway Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., Durham, N.C.
