Mrs. Mary Grace Cline, 76, of Melfa, wife of the late Jesse Wayne Cline, passed away on Aug. 11, 2024, in Melfa.
Born on Feb. 15, 1948, in Guilford, she was the daughter of the late Emory James Taylor and Ida Mae Scott Taylor. Mary worked for Holly Farms, Stuckeys, John W. Taylor, and Perdue. She was a longtime member of Rock Church and Bible Baptist Church. A happy, bubbly person, she loved taking care of her yard and home. She was always full of laughter and was the center of attention. Mary enjoyed going out to eat and shopping, but her ultimate joy in life were her children and grandchildren.
Mary is survived by two sons, J.W. Cline and wife, Diana, of Onancock, and Brian Cline, of Melfa; brothers, Will Carrol Taylor and Timothy Ray Taylor; sisters, Laura Mae Taylor, Joanne Carey, and Billie June Taylor; grandchildren, Michael Cline and Gregory McAuliffe and wife, Holly; great-grandchildren, Kathleen McAuliffe and Allison McAuliffe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Gregory “Ducky” Taylor, Donald Wayne “Bo” Taylor, Emory Taylor, and infant Mary Grace Taylor.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, Aug. 17, at 11 a.m. from the Baptist Bible Church with Pastor Rob Fletcher and Pastor Paul Nolz officiating. Interment followed in the Fairview Lawn Cemetery in Onancock.
The family received friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thornton Funeral Home.
Arrangements were by the Thornton Funeral Home in Parksley.
