Accomack County Grand Jury hands down indictments

On August 5, an Accomack County grand jury issued the following indictments:
Patrick James Berry, 40, of Atlantic, was indicted on one felony count of possession of cocaine for a Feb. 15 incident. He was arrested and later released on $1,500 secured bond.

Sandra Earlene Pruitt, 58, of Onancock, was charged with two felony counts of possession of crack cocaine and destroying or concealing evidence for an incident on May 21. Pruitt, who was on probation for drug charges, attempted to swallow crack rocks to destroy evidence, according to court documents. She was released on $5,000 unsecured bond.

Vaughn Waldo Topping Jr., 65, of Parksley, was indicted on one felony count of possession of crack cocaine related to an arrest on Feb. 6. He was later released on $3,000 unsecured
bond.

Courtney Danielle Fisher, 35, of New Church, was charged with one felony count of possession of cocaine related to an arrest on April 24. She was released on $2,000 unsecured bond.

Keith Aaron Grinage, 50, of Atlantic, was charged with one felony count of driving while intoxicated, related to a crash in Temperanceville on May 23. This is Grinage’s third DWI offense. He was released on $4,000 secured bond.

Jimmy Lee White, Jr. 39, of New Church, was charged with three felony counts of eluding, reckless driving, and driving while intoxicated. On May 26, White was riding his motorcycle on Maddox Boulevard, in Chincoteague, when police Sgt. Jeffrey Stevens signaled for him to pull over after radar detected his speed at 53 in a 25 mph zone. Instead, White
turned around in the McDonald’s lot, failing to stop again at the exit. White was pursued down Maddox Boulevard at a recorded speed of 75 mph. He then ran a red light at the in-
tersection of Maddox Boulevard and Deep Hole Road before leaving the island over the causeway. He was later arrested after crashing near Chincoteague and Wallops Neck Roads. White was later released on $5,000 secured bond.

Quanta Markese Mapp, 31, of Painter, was indicted on two felony counts of possession of cocaine while in possession of a firearm. At the time of his arrest on March 16, he was also charged with, but not indicted for, possession with intent to sell. He was released on $7,500 secured bond.

Justus Earnest, 35, of Enola, Pa., was charged with two felony counts related to an incident on April 21, one count of breaking and entering, and one count of kidnapping/abduction by
force. Earnest was also charged with destruction of property, a misdemeanor. He is being held without bail.

Curtis Samuel McCray, 48, of Hallwood, was indicted on one felony count of illegal possession of oxycodone. At the time of his arrest on May 30, he was also driving on a revoked license. He was released on $10,000 secured bond.

Jawyne Coston Kente, 34, of Painter, was indicted on charges of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute related to an incident on May 22. This is his second such offense. He remains in custody.

Anthony Rayshard Davis, 31, of Painter, was indicted on three felony charges stemming from a traffic stop on March 16. He was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of a firearm while in possession of cocaine, and carrying a concealed weapon. He was also driving with a revoked or suspended license. Davis was released on $20,000 secured bond.

Hunter Douglas Weaver, 33, of Onancock, was indicted on one felony count of assault and battery of a law enforcement officer in a July 24 incident. He remains in custody.

Omar Matias, 39, of Parksley, was indicted on two felony counts of obtaining money, at a value of $1,000 or more, by false pretenses or statements, belonging to the Department
of Medical Assistance Services. He is being held without bail.

Kerwin Antwan Harmon, 44, of Withams, was indicted on three felony charges related to a traffic accident on Dec. 30, 2023. He was charged with possession of cocaine, driving while
under the influence, and assault and battery of a law enforcement officer. He was released on $4,000 secured bond on Jan. 17. Harmon was also indicted on one felony count related to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon on March 1. He was released on $5,000 secured bond.

Kenneth Tankard Short, 32, of Onancock, was indicted on one felony count of cocaine possession related to an incident on April 6. He was released on $2,500 unsecured bond.

Deandria Marcus Brown, 51, of Oak Hall, was indicted on two felony charges of credit card larceny without consent. He was released on $5,000 unsecured bond.

William Shertenleib, 61, of Sanford, was charged with one felony count of possession of cocaine related to an incident on March 11. He was released on $2,500 unsecured bond.

Austin Tyler Burland, 24, of Parksley, was charged with one felony count of attempted burglary in a May 24 incident. On that date, Burland tried to break into the Family Dollar in Parksley after hours in the hopes of obtaining cigarettes. He later turned himself in to police, according to court documents. He was released on $3,000 secured bond.

Richard Liddle, 47, of Chincoteague, was charged with two felony counts related to an incident on April 30. Liddle, who was living in Horntown at the time of the incident, was
charged with strangulation and assault and battery of a law enforcement officer. He remains in custody.

Gerri Latasha Fitch, 44, of Pocomoke City, Md. was charged with four felony counts of forgery regarding checks written and signed between July and October of 2023. She was released on $2,000 secured bond.

Crystal Blue Ebberts, 38, of Chincoteague, was charged with a total of three felony counts of strangulation related to a June 4 incident. After being arrested Ebberts was released on
$2,000 bond. On Aug. 5, in addition to the indictment for strangulation, she was charged with two additional felony counts of breaking and entering. She was arrested for these two additional charges on Aug. 6 and released on the original bond.

Steven Giddens, 52, of Birdsnest, was indicted on four felony counts related to an incident on April 17. The charges were felony eluding, possession of cocaine, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm while in possession of cocaine. He remains in custody.

Travis Ross Marshall, 34, of Tangier, was indicted on multiple felony charges stemming from two separate incidents. Marshall was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property on or about March 15 and was later released on $1,000 secured bond. He was also indicted on three additional felony counts related to an incident on May 10. He was charged with
possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and possession of ammunition by a felon. He remains in custody.
