Man dies after car capsizes in Guard Shore marsh

A car is recovered from Guard Shore after a fatal crash.

A 26-year-old man died in a crash on Guard Shore Road on Saturday, Aug. 3, according to Virginia State Police.

Radain Alberto Tomas Isidro was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Cruz sedan eastbound on Guard Shore Road, when he ran off the road and overturned in the marsh, said State Police Sgt. Michelle Anaya

After the vehicle rolled into the marsh there was approximately 4 feet of water inside, submerging the passenger compartment completely.

A 25-year-old female passenger was able to escape the vehicle with minor injuries. Isidro, was unable to escape from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
