Mrs. Sallie Eubank Schwartz, 92, passed away peacefully at her home in Cinnaminson, N.J. on July 9, 2024. She was born in Cape Charles on Dec. 13, 1931, to the late Joseph and Ruth (Burton) Eubank.
For over 70 years, Sallie was the loving and devoted wife of Bradford Schwartz. She was a beloved mother to Ann, Kendall, Leslie, and Whitney, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt who is deeply missed by all including her loyal dog, Luke.
Sallie met her husband, Brad, at The Corner Store in Charlottesville, and they were married following a brief courtship and elopement. She supported Brad through medical school before they began an adventurous life together in the U.S. Navy. While in the military, they moved frequently, raising their family all over the U.S. and in Japan.
After Brad’s retirement from the military, they settled in York County, Pa., where they maintained a farm for over 30 years. While on the farm, she raised Black Angus cows and a multitude of geese, ducks, dogs, and cats. Sallie was a talented craftsperson; proficient in weaving, basketry, crewel, pottery, and Ikebana. She was an active juried member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen. Sallie had a keen eye for antiques and enjoyed “junking” throughout her life; both in the U.S. and overseas.
Sallie will be remembered for her love and dedication to her husband and to her four daughters and their families. The memories she helped to make are a blessing to her family and those that knew her.
