A nurse practitioner with Eastern Shore Rural Health was arrested Tuesday, July 16, at his Onley home and charged with distribution of child pornography.

Lucas Allen Fussell, 42, of 25527 Coastal Blvd., was arrested in a morning raid by the FBI, WAVY-TV reported on its website, citing court documents.

The FBI and state police carried out the raid on the busy Onley thoroughfare as rapt witnesses watched.

Fussell, who joined Rural Health in 2012, works at the Onley Community Health Center, where he is listed as a nurse practitioner clinical director and family nurse practitioner, according to a short biography on the Rural Health corporate website.

As of 10:30 p.m., Tuesday, Fussell’s work experience and photograph remained on the website.

Rural Health did not address Fussell’s arrest on its website Tuesday.

WAVY reported Fussell allegedly sent child pornography to an FBI employee on June 22 and June 30.

It reported a cell phone belonging to a person arrested four months by a child exploitation task force contained communications with Fussell, according to court documents.

Communications between Fussell and the other person included child sexual abuse material, WAVY reported.

The WAVY report said Fussell “shared multiple messages that described his patients in an explicit manner.”
