Mrs. Mabel Taylor, 89, of New Church, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024, with her family by her side. Born on April 27, 1935, on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Mabel R. Wood.

Mabel had many jobs in her life. She worked for Eastern Shore Upholstery, cleaned houses and churches, and worked at Dixieland, but her favorite job was being a homemaker. She loved family and friends unconditionally, but she loved her Savior the most. Before her passing, Mabel was the oldest member of First Baptist Church of New Church.

Mabel is survived by two daughters, Angela L. Trafford, of North Cape May, N.J., and Charlene M. Taylor, of New Church; two granddaughters, Tanya Niblett and Christina Taylor; three grandsons, Charles E. Taylor, Russell Trafford, and Michael Beauchman; a sister, Ada Linton, of New Church; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Besides her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Charles A. Taylor; daughter, Debbie Niblett; son, Wesley Taylor; five brothers; and two sisters.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 22, at 11 a.m., at Downing Cemetery in Oak Hall.
