Mr. Robert James “Cookie” Collins Sr., of Hopkins, husband of the late Ruth Collins, passed away Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 7, 1945, in Hampton, he was the son of the late Roy Collins and the late Rosalie Marshall Collins.
Cookie retired from Shelton Refrigeration as an HVAC installer. He was also a former waterman who loved fishing, hunting, and being on the bay.
Survivors include his two sons, Robert James Collins Jr. and wife, Amy, of Wattsville, and William (Billy) Collins and his wife, Gemima, of Bloxom; his two sisters, Addie Hewitt and husband, Mike, of Clearwater, Fla., and Edwana McLean, of Houston; his brother, Eddie Wallace and wife, Jenna, of Salem; his grandchildren, Brittany Lynn Strauss, Omar Vasquez, William Collins Jr., Cristian Collins, Madison (Matt Matt) Collins, and Roosevelt Collins; seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Other than his wife and parents, Cookie was preceded in death by Vicki Hopkins and Pauline Collins.
Funeral services will be private at a later date.
