Richard Joseph “Dick” Rang, 72, of the Eastern Shore of Virginia, formerly of Hanover, Pa., husband of Barbara J. Kuhn Rang, died on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.

Born on Sunday, Dec. 3, 1950 in Hanover, he was a son of the late Albert E. and Jessamine F. Brady Rang. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jordan Rang; a brother, Albert “Ed” Rang; and two brothers-in-law, George Doll and Robert Witmoyer. 

Dick retired in 2003 from SKF USA, Inc. after 33 years of service.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman, having fished the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay.  He loved to spend time at his cabin in Tioga County, Pa., and was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Eastern Shore Anglers Club.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 39 years, are two sons, Craig (Georgia) Rang, of Colchester, Conn., and Tim (Molly) Rang, of Berwyn, Pa.; four grandchildren, Alex, Hunter, Evan, and Lilly Rang; a brother, Dan (Tracy) Rang, of McSherrystown, Pa.; four sisters, Jessie (Jim) Smith, of Colorado, Laura (Dick) Krepps, of Hanover, Deb (Bob) Welsh, of York, Pa., and Karen Rang, of Hanover; a brother-in-law, Ed Kuhn, of Hanover; six sisters-in-law, Louanne (Bob) Garman, of Hanover, Teresa Doll, of Greencastle, Pa., Sue (Elaine) Kuhn, Rosemary Swartz, Angela (Jeff) Selby, and Patty Kuhn, all of Hanover; and several nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held.
