Mr. Floyd Oliver Brasure, 89, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, at his home. Floyd was kind, generous and always “had time,” never turning down a long conversation and truly engaging with others. He enjoyed making new friends in his many travels and was proud to have visited all 50 states. He routinely offered fatherly wisdom (often unsolicited), was a strong advocate for education, and helped others see the big picture when problems arose. Floyd will be remembered for his compassion for family, friends, and animals, his frequent laughter, many stories, and random gifts of “walking around money.”

Floyd enjoyed traveling with his family — camping and road trips to Disneyland when the kids were young to cross-country road trips and cruises with Jane in their later years.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Jane, include two children, Michelle Brasure and her husband, Bruce Mike, of Prescott, Wis., Dean P. Brasure, of Salisbury, and one grandchild, Zoe Olivia Bunzli of Minneapolis, Minn. He will be missed by many family and friends, especially cousins, Diane (Parks) Smith and husband, Gregory, Paulette (Parks) Linton, and Winnie Rose (Gall) Barrett.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 4 in Holloway Funeral Home, Salisbury. Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 4 from 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Taylor Cemetery, Temperanceville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary via their website, www.bestfriends.org or the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company at CVFC3.com
