Ms. Hattie Lee Chandler, 81, beloved daughter of the late Levin Chandler Sr. and the late Mary Victoria Chandler, was born on June 25, 1942, in Pungoteague. God called her home on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023.
Hattie, known as “Hattie Jack” or “Hat,” received her education in the Accomack County school system. She was employed by several companies during her lifetime.
Hattie was a faithful member of New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church until her health began to fail. You would often see her clapping her hands in her favorite spot in the back corner of the church.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, from New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Exmore, with the Rev. Jeffery Smith officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
She leaves to cherish her memories one sister, Shirley Fitchett; three brothers, Levin Chandler, Willie Chandler, and Bobby (Sarah) Chandler; very special niece, Donna “Badness” Chandler-Bailey; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Arrangements were by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
