Mrs. Fannie Helen Widgeon Belote, beloved wife the late Walter C. Belote, and a resident of Quinby, passed away Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023. Born March 10, 1933 in Oyster, she was the daughter of William Thomas Widgeon and Katherine Eder Widgeon.
She was a loving, devoted, and caring wife to her late husband who was bedridden for many long years with rheumatoid arthritis. She loved her family dearly. She loved a biscuit and beans, which were a reflection of her childhood days being raised during the Depression Era — being content with what you had. May her memory be a blessing.
She is survived by her son, Butch Belote (Peggy); daughters, Rita Mears (Tommy), Connie West (Jimmy), and Linda Parks (Jackie); seven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Randolph Widgeon.
A memorial service was held Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Doughty Funeral Home. Interment was private. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
