Mr. Timothy Wayne Smith, 68, of Atlantic, passed peacefully in his sleep on Aug. 19, 2023, at his residence.  He was born in Nassawadox on Dec. 7, 1954, to the late Jacob Harry Smith and Mary J. (Bartee) Smith.

He was an honorary member of the Atlantic Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company, where he was past assistant chief and secretary.

He was a member of the Eastern Shore of Virginia Anglers Club. Timmy was known to come to the rescue of many of his farming family and fix anything they needed.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved to take and teach his nephews his passion. He was always there for his nephews and nieces; from building tree houses to fixing cars and go-carts, Uncle Tim was on it.

Timothy is survived by his loving spouse of 45 years, Cynthia Revell Smith, of Atlantic; brother, Tony Smith and his wife, Lou Ann, of Temperanceville; brother-in-law, Wayne Revell, of Atlantic; two nieces, Jamie Smith, of Pocomoke City, Md., and Lindsay R. Lang and her husband, Jason, of Atlantic; three nephews, Anthony Smith, of Temperanceville, Justin P. Revell and his wife, Alyssa, of Atlantic, and Brandon F. Revell, of Atlantic; three great-nephews, Wyatt, Jacob, and Logan; two great-nieces, Darcy and Parker; mother-in-law, Janice Brothers, of Assawoman; sister-in-law, Cheryl Revell, of Atlantic; his beloved fur baby, Xander; and several cousins, friends, and farmers who became family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Alan W. Revell; and in-laws, John Revell and Peggy and Earl Stephens.

A Celebration of Life was held on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Atlantic Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company in Atlantic. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Atlantic Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company, P.O. Box 207, Atlantic, VA 23303.
