Ms. Annette Hinmon, 64, affectionately known as “Red,” was born on Sept. 17, 1958, to the late Eugene Milburn and Bernice Holden. She departed this life on Aug. 5, 2023, at home with her family after a lingering illness.

Annette was educated in the public schools of Accomack County, where she was a proud member of the Class of 1976 at Atlantic High School.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at an early age and over the years held memberships at First Baptist Church in Mappsville and St. John Independent Church in Messongo.

Annette was employed in the poultry industry for 46 years, working 12 years at Holly Farms Inc. and 34 years at Perdue until her health failed.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023 from St. John’s U.M. Church, Atlantic, with the Rev. Brenda Peterson officiating. Interment was in the Groton Community Cemetery, Messongo.

Left to cherish fond memories are: two daughters, Portia Hinmon and Latonya Hinmon;   two special daughters, Shaletta “Lett” Dickerson and Kymberly Tiller; two brothers, Craig Holden and Barry Broughton; granddaughter, Jordyn Hinmon; special grandson, Cameron Shrieves; special granddaughter, Aliyah Tiller; five nieces; two nephews; 10 sister friends;  and a great host of special friends and family.

Arrangements were by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
