Mr. Gary Odell Crowell, 65, of Parksley, passed away on July 9, 2023, in Virginia Beach.
Born on Jan. 20, 1958, in Nassawadox, he was the son of the late Raleigh Odell Crowell and the late Nancy L. Shrieves Crowell. Gary was a welder by trade but was a jack-of-all-trades, proficient in electrical work, HVAC, and construction.
Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography, painting and drawing, and collecting coins and arrowheads. He enjoyed music and loved to cook and grill. A gentle giant, Gary was very loving and generous. He was an intelligent person who would give you the shirt off his back.
Gary is survived by his sister, Teresa Lynne Fears, of Atlantic.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Crowell.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023, at 11 a.m. from the Thornton Funeral Home.
