Mr. Milton Lee Strand, 78, was born to the late Reon Savage and the late Eula Strand Johnson on Aug. 8, 1944. He was the husband of the late Shirley Ann Strand. Milton was called to rest with our heavenly father on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Shore Health and Rehab Center in Parksley.
Milton was educated in the Accomack County public school system. He worked for the late Robert Cobb at his gas station as a mechanic in the early 1960s. Upon his retirement, Milton returned to the Eastern Shore to enjoy life with his family and friends.
Milton was a member of Bethel AME Church in Onancock. He served on the Trustee Board for several years.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, from Bethel AME Church, Onancock, with the Rev. Richard Greene officiating. Interment was in the Metropolitan–Bayside Community Cemetery, Onancock.
Milton is survived by his children, Sheila Strand, Milton Strand Jr., and Angela Mattis; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Florine Giddings, Barbara Joynes, and Pearl Smith; three brothers, Clinton Strand, Stanford Strand, and George Strand; two uncles, Wendell West and Irvin West; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Arrangements were by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
