After her own children were grown, she worked for a time as a teacher’s aide at Cheriton Elementary School. She loved meeting those pupils later when they were adults.
Jo was a homemaker whose love of home and family showed in her cooking, gardening, sewing, and living an example of motherhood. Jo loved working in her yard growing vegetables and flowers. In her last year of life, she planned which flowers and vegetables she would grow, and she purchased the seeds. Those plants are now growing.
