Mrs. Diana Veney Strand, 71, beloved daughter of Catherine Stewart Veney and the late Frank Veney, was born on July 8, 1951, in Onancock. She departed this life on June 21, 2023, at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.
Diana was educated in the public schools of Accomack County and was a graduate of Mary N. Smith High School. Diana was an administrative assistant for the Virginia Employment Commission for over 40 years until her retirement in 2021.
Diana professed her love for Christ and joined the United Faith Church of Deliverance under the leadership of Bishop George Copeland. In earlier years, she enjoyed singing with the Dennis Chorale Singers for many years.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, from Anointed Word of Deliverance Ministries, Keller, with Bishop George Copeland officiating. Interment was in the Metropolitan Bayside Community Cemetery, Onancock.
Left to cherish her loving memories are her husband, Jesse “Richard” Strand; daughter, Raquel Strand; mother, Catherine Veney; grand-pup, Roxy; brothers, Donald Veney, Freddie Veney, and Eric Veney; sister, Ernestine Veney; one sister-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and special friends.
Arrangements were by the Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Accomac.
