Cedrick Cooper announces candidacy for Accomack County Circuit Court Clerk

An Accomack native has announced his candidacy for the position of Clerk of Circuit Court for Accomack County in the Nov. 7 election. 

Cedrick L. Cooper, a resident of Melfa, declared his candidacy for the position now held by his father, Samuel H. Cooper Jr., who is retiring at the end of the year. 

Cedrick Cooper is a 1994 graduate of Nandua High School in Onley. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Wilmington University in New Castle, Del. 

He recently earned a degree in mortuary science from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Services in Decatur, Ga. 

Cooper is the director of accounting for Shore Up Inc. in Salisbury, Md.

Cedrick Cooper is married to Trina Mapp Cooper and they have three children: Charles (Keyona), Ayanna, and Cedrick Jr. 

They have two grandsons, Nyles and Cam, and one grand-dog, Snickers.  

The son of Samuel Jr. and Sandra W. Cooper, he has one sibling, Shenae Cooper-Drummond.
