Mrs. Linda Browder Bennett, 77, of Norfolk, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2023, after a five-year battle with dementia. She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Bond Browder. Linda is survived by her loving mother, Nettie Browder Martin (Leland); her husband of 52 years, Arthur “Reggie” Bennett; her sons, Jeffrey Bennett (aka Precious Baby Boy) and Arthur “Reggie” Bennett III (Rebecca); her daughter, Regina King (Chip); sister, Evelyn Peglowski (Dick); brother, Robert Browder; uncle, Robert “Bobby” Lee (Lynne) and granddaughter, Emily Washburn (William).
After graduating from Norview High School in 1964, Linda dedicated 37 years to the civil service, ending her career as a GS13 Program Analyst. During her time in the civil service, Linda was time and time again recognized for both her work ethic and brilliant mind. Linda was known for her genuine, gentle heart and for being kind to every soul she came across, whether it be human, cat, dog, or bird. She enjoyed lifelong relationships with friends, and in recent years enjoyed shopping, traveling, and watching sunsets from the sunroom at the family farm with her dog in her lap.
There will be a private memorial service at the beloved Bennett Family Farm, Tara, on the Eastern Shore in Machipongo. The family would like to give a special note of thanks to Bliss In Home Healthcare, particularly founder and CEO, Adriana “Ana” Tucker. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Betty Tucker Scholarship for Training Center to provide funding for those interested in pursuing a career in home healthcare.
